Microsoft added a new security feature to the Chromium-powered Microsoft Edge browser that will protect you from malicious websites while surfing the net. Using the Microsoft Defender SmartScreen service, Microsoft implemented this feature to Edge 87.

Microsoft is currently working on a new privacy feature for the Chromium powered Microsoft Edge browser, that will allow you to show or hide the "Reveal Password" button next to the password fields. When you have a privacy concern, you should hide the button by simply turning OFF a settings.

Microsoft announced the general availability of the new Microsoft Edge (Chromium) Tools for Visual Studio Code extension, which clubs two experimental extensions (Elements and Network), will now allow you to see what your code generates, and debug the code without switching between editor and browsers.

Earlier this month, Microsoft started rolling out a new feature called "Web Capture" to a very limited set of Edge Insiders in the Canary build. As the name suggests, the feature adds the ability to capture a screenshot of a website from the browser without using any 3rd party tool. You can then copy the image to the clipboard, or save it to disk.

We have recently introduced a new feature of Microsoft Edge, that the company is currently working on, called "Sleeping Tabs". The feature when activated moves the background tabs of the browser to a sleeping state and thus improves the overall system performance.

The latest version of Microsoft Edge (Chromium) not only alerts you when it finds your credentials leaked somewhere in the Dark Web, but now also suggests you a random, strong, and unique password when you visit a site to create a new account.

 

Microsoft added a new feature called "Suggest strong passwords" to Microsoft Edge 87 (enabled by default). If you are currently running Edge Canary or Edge Dev build, you can try out it now. The feature will soon roll out to the stable release channel.

The latest version of Microsoft Edge in the Dev Channel gets support for viewing the Table of Contents (TOC) of a PDF document. If you are having Microsoft Edge version 87.0.634.0 and above, you can now view and navigate the document through the new "Table of Contents" panel.

Microsoft added a new feature to Microsoft Edge that will now allow you to choose "Open" or "Save" options for downloaded items before the download begins. This is called as the new download GUI. Though this feature was there in the old legacy Edge browser, Microsoft recently added it to the Chromium-powered Edge.
