Microsoft is now adding a new personalization feature to Microsoft Edge (Chromium) browser. The new feature will allow you to apply custom accent color to the browser window. As this feature is still under preview, it's hidden under an experimental flag. You must enable the feature to show up on the browser settings page.

Microsoft releases a new build of Microsoft Edge (Chromium) for the Edge Insiders in the Dev channel. The latest build version 89.0.723.0 is the first Edge 89 build rolling out in this channel. The latest build includes some new features, better reliability improvements, and a list of bug fixes.

 

Though there are no major features introduced in this build, it added the ability to run an on-demand scan for leaked passwords and an option to have downloaded PDFs open in the default PDF reader are some minor key features that you would like in it.

Earlier this week, Microsoft released PowerToys version 0.27 with a bunch of new improvements and said that the Video conferencing mute utility will soon come as an experimental feature before it hits the final release. Now the company released PowerToys pre-release version 0.28.0, which comes with all the features and fixes part of v0.27, plus the Video conference mute utility.

 

Those who are in the regular release channel will still have to wait a little longer until Microsoft integrates the utility in the coming weeks after fixing all the bugs and finalizing the offering.

Starting December 2020, Microsoft will start delivering the .NET Core updates on Windows via Microsoft Update (MU). This will benefit the .NET Core applications that are using the Framework Dependent Deployment model. The apps that use the Self-Contained Deployment model, won't have any effect.

Microsoft is giving its effort to make Windows 10 better. The company released a new build (Windows 10 Insiders Preview Build 20270) from the FE_RELEASE branch to the Windows Insiders who are in the Dev Channel. In the latest build, Microsoft's digital assistant Cortana is gaining a new feature called "File skill".

Windows Experience Feature Packs are used to deliver new feature improvements to Windows 10 customers without releasing the bi-annual major feature updates. Currently, only a limited set of features are being developed which are independent of the OS releases.

 

Microsoft now releases Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1070.0 to the Windows Insiders in the Beta channel which adds two improvements to users running Windows 10 version 20H2 build 19042.662 or higher.

Microsoft releases a new Windows 10 preview build 19042.662 to the Windows Insiders in the Beta and Release Preview channels running Windows 10 October 2020 Update. This update includes several bug fixes along with the USB 3.0 bug and the bug that causes a black screen for Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) users.

 

This update comes as a KB4586853 article, and will soon be released to the non-insiders as an optional update. Later, it will be forced as a mandatory update as part of the patch Tuesday.
