Microsoft releases a new Windows 10 Preview Build 21332 (RS_PRERELEASE) to the Windows Insiders who are in the Dev Channel. If you are performing a clean install, you will be surprised to see that it no longer bundles the 3D Viewer and Paint 3D apps with Windows.

Microsoft releases a new Office build for Windows in the Beta Channel. The latest Office Insiders Beta build 13901.20036 (Version 2103) adds auto-saving and co-authoring features on sensitive encrypted documents. So you don't have to trade off productivity for security.

As per the Microsoft Edge Release Roadmap, the company released a new major update to the Microsoft Edge Stable Release Channel. The new Microsoft Edge (Chromium) v89 comes with a startup boost feature, sleeping tabs, vertical tabs layout, PDF improvements, autofill of birth dates, a new menu to list extensions, and more.

 

You can now upgrade to Microsoft Edge 89 update for Windows 10 and macOS to experience the above new features and improvements. Corporates can download the Microsoft Edge 89 Offline Installer to push the update to all users.

Microsoft PowerToys is a set of utilities for advanced users to tune and streamline their Windows 10 experience with a set of new productivity features. A new update to PowerToys for Windows 10 is now available. The latest build version 0.33.1 adds a bunch of new features and fixes to PowerToys.

A new Paint 3D app was first introduced in Windows 10 with the Creators Update. The app was used to create 3D objects from 2D sketches or images. Along with this, Microsoft also added a new "3D Objects" folder in File Explorer which was not useful for most of the users.

Last year, Microsoft confirmed that a new standalone version of Microsoft Office for both Windows and Mac will be released for the consumers in the second half of 2021. Now the company announced more about this upcoming commercial preview of Microsoft Office LTSC (Long Term Support Candidate) and said that it will bring Office and Windows into alignment in support of the same limited scenarios.

 

While Microsoft didn't yet detail all the changes to Office 2021, it did mention that Dark Mode will be supported and it will include accessibility improvements, capabilities like Dynamic Arrays & XLOOKUP in Excel, and performance improvements across all Office applications.

Microsoft announced the release of .NET 6 Preview 1 and shared what you can expect from the new release. The first preview on Microsoft .NET 6 includes a large set of new experiences and capabilities along with major improvements across all parts of .NET (desktop, mobile, and cloud apps).

 

.NET 6 has been tested with the latest version of Visual Studio, i.e. Visual Studio 2019 version 16.9 Preview 4 on desktop, and Visual Studio 2019 version 8.9 on Mac. Microsoft said that .NET 6 will go through multiple previews before it finally releases in November 2021.

Microsoft finally releases the first preview build of Windows 10 version 21H1 (Spring 2021 Update). This comes after the official announcement of introducing the next feature update to Windows 10, version 21H1. As we informed you earlier, it is going to be a minor update and will be available through the enablement package.

 

The latest Windows 10 Preview Build 19043.844 (KB4601382) is now rolling out to the Beta Channel Windows Insiders via the "seeker" experience and includes the following new features. To grab the build navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Download and install.

In this week's Edge Dev build, Microsoft adds some new features to the chromium-powered Microsoft Edge browser. Microsoft, in a blog post on the Tech Community forum, acknowledged the next version of Windows 10. In that post, the company also confirmed that Windows 10 version 21H1 won't have any new updates to the Windows Hardware Compatibility Program, and thus, no major hardware certification changes in that build.

 

Microsoft, in a note to the hardware partners, stated that Windows 10 version 21H1 will follow the same guidelines as Windows 10 version 20H2. So, all existing PCs, apps, and drivers will be compatible with the next version of Windows 10.
