  2. Hi Kunal,

    Can you please help me in one scenario:
    I have made one user control and on the client project i am using the DLL of my control. In my user control i have a put a code like:

    UIElement root = Application.Current.RootVisual as UIElement;
    root.AddHandler(UIElement.MouseLeftButtonDownEvent, new MouseButtonEventHandler(OnMouseLeftButtonDown), true);

    I have button to close calendar in my usercontrol. When the client is clicking on the button the calendar gets open and when client click other control the calendar get closed.

    The Problem is calendar does not get closed when click on the empty area other than control. Please suggest.

    1. Hi Dinesh,

      It's a default functionality of the popup control. For this to resolve, you need to add a simple little trick. I remember, I have posted this trick in this blog. Do a search here and you will find it easily. Let me know, if you need any help further.

      Cheers,
      Kunal

  3. I did this by creating the Parent Grid MouseLeftButton Down Event and also by applying Backgroung="Transparent". By Appying color it works fine.
    Thanks Kunal.

  4. One more question,
    Can we read Excel data and show it on datagrid silverlight without any third party DLL, without OOB settings and without COM. I did this by using STREAM but the issue is that is working for the latest format i.e .xlsx but not with .xls.
    So is there any other solutions.

    1. It works better with .xlsx. You can try some 3rd party controls like Telerik.

  5. I dont have option to use Third Party Tool.
    Thanks Kunal..

    1. OnApplyTemplate() must be called in the constructor just after the InitializeComponent() call. Check, if you had done so or not.
