Tired of remembering and writing the complete path of the registry key? In latest Windows 10 Insiders Preview Build 17711, Microsoft introduces a new feature to Registry Editor that will help you to navigate to the registry key path easily with auto-fill.

In this quick blog post, we are going to see how this feature would ease our work. A video demonstration has been included.

Along with Windows 10 insider preview build 17711, you will now see a drop-down of the auto-populated path as and when you are typing to complete the next part of the registry path. To perform this action, open your Windows Registry Editor (regedit) and click on the input box.

Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + L OR Alt + D to focus your cursor to the input box. As shown in the above video demonstration, start typing the registry key path. You will notice that a drop-down will get populated based on what you are typing.

This will allow you to select the path and directly navigate to the path with a single click or keypress. It also auto-fills the path in the textbox. In case you want to remove a word, you can either press Ctrl + Backspace to delete the previous word or Ctrl + Delete to delete the next word.
