While Microsoft already released the Windows 10 October 2018 Update recently, they have already started working on the next major feature update (code named: 19H1) and have already released few preview builds to the insiders.

Among those new enhancements, the Windows Security app also got some noticeable feature updates in latest Windows 10 build 18305.

Along with Windows 10 (19H1) build 18305 for Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring, Microsoft released some improvements to the Windows Security app for Windows 10. The Windows Security app will now have a new Protection History experience which will give you details about threats and available actions along with the detections by Windows Defender Antivirus.

With this, it also added Controlled folder access blocks to history, along with any blocks which are made through organizational configuration of Attack Surface Reduction Rules. Users will also be able to see pending recommendations in red or yellow states in the history list. You can find this under Windows Security | Virus & Threat Protection | Current threats | Threat history.

Tamper Protection is a new setting from Windows Defender Antivirus and is now available in the Windows Security app. It provides additional protections against changes to key security features. You can find this setting under Windows Security | Virus & Threat Protection | Virus & Threat Protection Settings | Manage settings.

The new security improvements are already part of the latest Windows 10 Insiders Preview Build 18305, which has been already released to the Fast Ring Insiders. If you haven't upgraded to this build, you can download the same by going to Settings | Windows Update | Check for Updates. There are many new features and improvements you can explore in this build. Windows Sandbox and setting the default tab in Task Manager are few of them.
