Back in May 2021, during the //BUILD/2021 event, Microsoft announced the ability for Microsoft Teams users to purchase any third-party Teams app subscriptions directly from the Teams app store. From within the store, users can view subscription plans offered and go through the checkout process to pay with a credit card.

This feature is soon going to roll out to the Microsoft Teams users and the tenant admin can enable or disable their users' ability to discover and install third-party applications that require third-party subscriptions.

You will soon be able to purchase 3rd-party apps through the Teams store

According to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, this feature is going to begin rolling out in early October and for the rollout to be complete by late October. Once the feature is released, Microsoft Teams users will be able to purchase 3rd-party apps through the Teams store if the functionality is enabled by the Teams admin.

Users today who can find and install third-party apps from the Teams app store will be able to purchase subscriptions when this feature is released for applications that offer subscription plans. For those ISVs with whom you may have negotiated a discounted rate, private plans will be offered during the purchase flow for your users, says Microsoft.
