Just like all other Fridays, Microsoft has released a new update to the Office Insiders in the Windows Beta Channel. The latest update (Build 15831.20012) comes to users running Microsoft Office version 2211. It adds a new improvement to Microsoft PowerPoint that will now allow you to save media with closed captions.

Save Media with Closed Captions. Now, when you right-click and choose Save Media as, all the closed caption files are saved along with the media file.

In case you aren't aware, here are the steps to add closed captions to a video in Microsoft PowerPoint:

  1. In the Normal view, open the slide that has the video to that you want to add captions to.
  2. Select the video on the slide.
  3. On the Playback tab, select Insert Captions and then select Insert Captions.
  4. In the Insert Captions dialog box, select the file or files and then click Insert.
  5. If you need to add more caption files, just repeat the process.
  6. Play the video and check that the captions appear correctly.

 

 

How to remove closed captions from a video in Microsoft PowerPoint?

To remove closed captions from a video in Microsoft PowerPoint, follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. In the Normal view, open the slide that has the video containing the captions.
  2. Select the video on the slide.
  3. On the Playback tab, select Insert Captions and then select Remove All Captions.

  • Fixed an issue where no visual indicator would show which wrap text option was selected.
  • Fixed an issue where content would flash with every keystroke when typing in a tracked change in a table.
  • Fixed an issue where printing would stop working.
  • Fixed an issue where a paragraph before non-editable content could not be deleted.
  • Fixed an issue where a file, opened as protected, would remain in a temp folder after the user closed it and exited Office.
