It’s definitely a busy day today when Microsoft started releasing multiple products during the BUILD conference happening in San Francisco. On 26th June 2013, Microsoft announced the availability of the first preview version of Visual Studio 2013 along with Windows 8.1 Preview.

 

In this post, you will find the link to download Visual Studio 2013 in case you want to try it before Microsoft actually releases the final product by end of the year probably.

 

26th June 2013 is a new era in Microsoft development platform when two different versions of Visual Studio released side by side. First it was the turn of Visual Studio 2012 Update 3, which is a cumulative update to existing Visual Studio 2012 installation. The second one is actually a new product in the family named “Visual Studio 2013”.

Visual Studio 2013 Preview comes with .NET 4.5.1 Preview as described in S. Somasegar’s blog: “Build 2013 and Visual Studio 2013 Preview”. Visual Studio 2013 Preview is a pre-release software and hence it does not come with Go Live license. You can install it just to try the latest version of the IDE.
