In a blog post today, S. Somasegar announced the availability of Visual Studio 2013 Release Candidate (RC) and .NET Framework 4.5.1 which is now available for download and has “Go Live” license. You can install Visual Studio 2013 RC on top of preview release or along with Visual Studio 2012.

Along with Windows 8.1 RTM for MSDN/TechNet subscribers, Microsoft also released Visual Studio 2013 RC today which can be downloadable from Visual Studio product website or from your MSDN/TechNet subscription page. The final bits of Visual Studio 2013 RTW will be available on 13th November 2013.

 

Windows Store app development requires Windows 8.1 RTM, which is available to MSDN and TechNet subscribers. Visual Studio 2013 RC does not support Windows 8.1 Preview or Windows Server 2012 R2 Preview. To develop Windows Store applications using Visual Studio 2013 RC, you must first install Windows 8.1 RTM.

Make sure to Sign-In to Visual Studio within 14 days with your Microsoft account to synchronize your settings across multiple machines and register your product. For Visual Studio 2013 RC, this experience is only available in English.
