Microsoft Office for Android is getting File Cards feature

Microsoft is continuously improving the Microsoft Office apps with new features that add additional productivity improvements. That's one of the main reasons why these apps are so popular on all platforms such as Windows, Android, iOS, and macOS.

Microsoft is now working on another new feature for Microsoft Office on Android that will add "File Cards" to the office apps.

File Cards offer a rich and modern way of consuming your Office content with inline previews, contextual information, such as the person who shared the file along with the context with which it was shared with you, and quick actions on the card that allow you to share and keep the file offline, Microsoft explains.

According to the company, the File Cards feature is going to start rolling out to Microsoft Office for Android in the month of August. As this will be a gradual rollout, it may take some time to show up on your device. But it will be completely rolled out within the next few weeks regardless of the region where you are present.

To try the "File Cards" feature, update to Office version 16.0.14228.20138 on your Android device and sign in to the app.

Once you are successfully signed in, tap the File Card view icon in the Files section on the Home screen to switch to the File Card view.

Your view preference will be retained if you switch between the ”Recent” and ”Shared” tabs or when you leave and return to the Office app in the future. You can switch back to the default List view at any time by tapping the List icon in the view switcher, Microsoft says.
