In-person and mobile/online sports betting has taken off across the United States over the past four years, and it’s only going to continue expanding.

Ever since the Supreme Court of the United States overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA) in May 2018, over two dozen states have legalized some form of legal sports betting.

The Best Apps For Sports Betting

The PASPA, which went into effect in October 1992, banned sports betting in most parts of the US for nearly 26 years. But the Supreme Court of the United States overturned the PASPA in 1992, ruling that it violated the country’s Tenth Amendment.

The states of Kansas and Ohio are getting very close to launching legalized sports betting. The hope is that Kansas Sports Betting Apps will launch in time for the 2022 NFL season, which begins on Sept. 8. Sports betting in Ohio, meanwhile, is set to launch in January.

With sports betting rapidly growing across the country, and with other states set to soon join the industry, here is a look at a few of the best betting apps to check out.

DraftKings

DraftKings was founded in Boston, Massachusetts back in 2012 by Matt Kalish, Jason Robins and Paul Liberman.

Fast forward 10 years later, and DraftKings is among the most widely-used sportsbooks around. One of the most popular things about DraftKings is its daily fantasy lineup program.

If you’re in a fantasy sports league, you’d probably love testing the DraftKings daily lineup. As opposed to having specific players throughout an entire season, you can simply put together a roster full of players that you think will have the performances on a given day.

DraftKings also rewards new customers with special offers and bonus codes. This may include $5,000 in risk-free bets if you deposit at least $1,000. Once the sportsbook launches in Kansas, customers who register early can garner $100 in risk-free wagers. There is also a “Dynasty Rewards Program” at DraftKings that offers special perks to loyal customers.

There are plenty of different sports you can bet on through DraftKings, including football, baseball, basketball, hockey, tennis, soccer, cycling, tennis, rugby, snooker, cricket, golf and much more.

FanDuel

The FanDuel sportsbook was founded in 2009, and it quickly moved up the ranks in the sports betting industry.

Last year, FanDuel won Operator of the Year honors at the EGR North America Virtual Awards. They have sportsbooks with several major professional sports franchises, including MLB’s Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees, the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and Brooklyn Nets and the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings.

FanDuel is also very generous in the offers they hand out to new customers. The sportsbook usually gives out a “No Sweat First Bet” worth up to $1,000. Residents of The Wheat State should also know that FanDuel will be giving out $100 worth of free wagers on the day the sportsbook launches in Kansas.

FanDuel also has a rewards/loyalty program, the FanDuel Players Club. You earn points for every time you sign up to enter a paid contest at the sportsbook. You get rewards over time as you accumulate more and more points.

The sportsbook allows you to place all sorts of different wagers, including money lines, point spreads, parlays and futures. The latter includes things such as division winners, award winners, league champions and more.

The Buffalo Bills are the favorites to win the Super Bowl on FanDuel at +650, for example, and the Los Angeles Dodgers carry the best World Series odds at +350.

Caesars

Based in Nevada, Caesars is among the elite sportsbooks in the gambling industry.

Caesars is one of the NFL’s betting partners. The sportsbook has partnerships with prominent franchises like the MLB’s White Sox and New York Mets. Caesars also recently reached an agreement on a partnership with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies.

There is a long list of different wagers you can place through the Caesars app, including moneylines, parlays, futures, prop bets, teasers and more.

Caesars is always offering special welcome codes and bonuses to new customers. Currently, they’re offering a risk-free sign-up bonus wager of up to $1,500. Caesars also has a rewards program in which you receive “tier credits” for each $5 bet.
