Microsoft officially announces Windows 11, the next major version of Windows

Windows has always existed to be a stage for the world’s innovation. It’s been the backbone of global businesses and where scrappy startups became household names. The web was born and grew up on Windows. It’s the place where many of us wrote our first email, played our first PC game and wrote our first line of code. Windows is the place people go to create, to connect, to learn and to achieve – a platform over a billion people today rely on, written by Panos Panay, Chief Product Officer of Microsoft Windows + Devices.

Windows 11 introduces several new features and improvements that include a redesigned Start Menu and Taskbar, new Themes, and a personalized feed with widgets.

The look and feel of the Start Menu will come with a clean interface, similar to what was expected for Windows 10 X. But if you are fond of those live tiles, it will just disappoint you. The top portion of the Start Menu will feature all your pinned apps, whereas the lower portion will show you recommended files and apps from your Microsoft or local account.

Microsoft moved the power options to the lower right corner of the Start Menu. From there you can now Switch OFF, Restart, or Hibernate your system.

By default, the Start Menu will be centered in the Taskbar, but you can switch back to left-aligned by following the steps mentioned here.

If you always work with multiple windows and applications, Microsoft added the ability to quickly snaps apps side by side. Along with this, Microsoft also introduces Snap Layouts, Snap Groups, and Desktops to provide an even more powerful way to multitask. These new features have been designed to help you organize your windows and optimize your screen real estate.

It will give you the flexibility to connect with friends and family through Teams, allowing you to instantly mute and unmute, or start presenting directly from the taskbar.
