What's new and improved in Windows 11 KB5032288 Update?

Copilot Across Multiple Displays

One of the standout features of the KB5032288 update is the ability to use Copilot across multiple displays. Users can now press the Copilot in Windows taskbar button on the display where they want Copilot to appear. To simplify the process, pressing Win + C will showcase Copilot on the last display it was on. This feature, currently available to a select audience, is set to roll out more broadly in the coming months.

Alt + Tab Integration for Copilot

The update introduces a new way to navigate Copilot in Windows using the Alt + Tab. When users press Alt + Tab, the thumbnail preview for Copilot appears alongside other open windows. Switching between them is made easy with the Tab keystroke. This integration is currently available to a limited audience, with plans for a wider deployment in the future.

Windows Spotlight as Default Background

In the coming weeks, users may notice Windows Spotlight set as the default background. This change occurs when the background is set to an inbox Windows image, providing a dynamic and visually engaging experience.

Enhancements to Copilot in Windows Usage

The update introduces a restriction on Copilot in Windows (in preview) for local account users. After asking for help ten times upon signing in, users must switch to a verified account, including a Microsoft account (MSA) or Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). It's worth noting that the name for Azure AD will change to Microsoft Entra ID.

Account-Related Notifications for Microsoft Accounts

This update marks the beginning of the rollout of account-related notifications for Microsoft accounts in Settings > Home. These notifications, displayed across the Start menu and Settings, enhance the connection between Windows and Microsoft apps, offering data backup and subscription management features. Users can manage Settings notifications in Settings > Privacy & Security > General.

Performance Improvements and Bug Fixes

The KB5032288 update doesn't just bring new features; it also addresses various issues to enhance overall system performance. For example, it improves the speed at which Copilot in Windows (in preview) opens from the taskbar, resolves issues with the Copilot icon not showing as active, and tackles problems with IE mode responsiveness.

Additionally, the update addresses concerns related to Dynamic Lighting, cursor behavior in Japanese input scenarios, Widgets notification badge placement, and various File Explorer issues. It also improves the performance of the shortcut (context) menu in both the desktop and File Explorer and addresses a specific Narrator issue during the Windows installation process.

As Microsoft continues to refine Windows 11, these updates showcase the company's commitment to delivering a seamless and user-friendly operating system. Users can look forward to an improved Copilot experience, enhanced notifications, and a more reliable overall computing environment with the installation of the KB5032288 update.
