I am feeling very proud to announce that, I have been awarded as Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) for the second consecutive year. Feeling good to say that I am still holding the second Silverlight MVP tag from India.

1st October is an wonderful day to me. In 2010, I received this award for the first time with a holding of second Silverlight MVP of India and still continuing with that. My sincere thanks to my MVP Lead, all Community friends and my Parents. Without all of their support it was quite difficult to get.

Also a warm Congratulation to all new and renewed MVPs of this quarter.

Congratulations 2011 Microsoft MVP!

Hooray! I am once again MVP now for the year 2011 - 2012. Just received the mail stating:

What is MVP Award?

People may want to know, what is this MVP Award? So, this point is for those who don’t know about the Microsoft MVP Award Programme. Here is a short snippet from the Microsoft MVP site:

The MVP Award recognizes exceptional technical community leaders from around the world who voluntarily share their deep, real-world knowledge about Microsoft technologies with others.

Potential MVPs are nominated by other technical community members, current and former MVPs, and Microsoft personnel who have noted their leadership and their willingness and ability to help others make the most of their Microsoft technology.

To receive the Microsoft MVP Award, MVP nominees undergo a rigorous review process. A panel that includes members of the MVP team and Microsoft product groups evaluates each nominee's technical expertise and voluntary community contributions for the past 12 months. The panel considers the quality, quantity, and level of impact of the MVP nominee's contributions. Active MVPs receive the same level of scrutiny as other new candidates each year.

If you want to know more about the program, read it from the Microsoft MVP site. If you know someone who is an outstanding community leader or an exceptional contributor toward Microsoft Technology, Apply Here to submit your entry. It will go thru an evaluation process and at the end the new candidate will be awarded based on his technical knowledge and contribution towards the community.

Summary of Last Year

It was the 1st October, when I was awarded first time as Microsoft MVP in the Silverlight as technology focused area. It was a great feeling at that moment. MVP Award gave me lots of benefits like MSDN and TechNet Subscriptions (all Microsoft Products in Free), Free Licenses of many 3rd Party products, direct interactions with Product Groups via email, early access to the new bits, a great interactions with other Microsoft MVPs, access to MVP Open Day event and many more which I can’t explain in short words.

During last year I published a huge articles and posts (around 230 in count) in my blog and other community sites. I also published an eBook on LightSwitch with the help of SilverlightShow.net community. Apart from article writing I was involved in several forums to help the people to resolve their queries. I got chance to speak in various Microsoft events on Silverlight and LightSwitch.

I started my another website called Silverlight-Zone.com to help the Silverlight community grow. There I manually post all good article links on Silverlight, Windows Phone 7, LightSwitch, XAML, XNA and other related stuffs so that, this will give you easy access to the good content already available online from one big database.

Due to all these activities, I received several awards from different community sites which includes MVP Award from Code Project and Telerik; also received Valued Blogger tag from Windows Phone community and DZone. It was a tremendous moment of my life.

End Note

Feeling like a charm to become a Microsoft MVP for the second consecutive year and yes feeling very proud to stay as 2nd Silverlight MVP from India, just after Vikram Pendse. Thanks to Abhishek Kant (South Asia MVP Lead, Microsoft), all my community friends without their support this journey would be quite difficult to achieve.

Finally my warm congratulation to all new MVPs, welcome on-board. Also my congratulation to all renewed MVPs of this quarter. Hope to meet you this time again in MVP Open Day summit.
