Windows Experience Feature Packs are used to deliver new feature improvements to Windows 10 customers without releasing the bi-annual major feature updates. Currently, only a limited set of features are being developed which are independent of the OS releases.

Microsoft now releases Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1070.0 to the Windows Insiders in the Beta channel which adds two improvements to users running Windows 10 version 20H2 build 19042.662 or higher.

Latest Windows 10 Feature Experience Pack brings two improvements

With the latest Windows Feature Experience Pack, Microsoft plans to improve a few Windows experiences outside the major Windows 10 feature updates that the company releases bi-annually. Also with that, Microsoft plans to increase the frequency of new features being delivered through the Feature Experience Pack.

The updates released through the Feature Experience Pack will be delivered faster to the users as those will be smaller in size. This change is going to be expected by early next year, but now the company is testing it through the Beta channel of Windows Insiders.

UPDATE [27-January-2021]:
Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.2020.0 comes with improved screen snipping experience

With the latest Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1070.0, Microsoft adds the following two new features:

  • You can now use the built-in screen snipping experience in Windows (Win + Shift + S) to create a snip of your screen and save the screenshot directly into a folder of your choice.
  • You can now use the touch keyboard in a portrait posture on a 2-in-1 touch device to experience the split keyboard mode.

The latest version of the Windows Feature Experience Pack updates will be delivered through the Windows Update. You can navigate to Settings > System > About to check which version has been installed on your system.
