Microsoft released a major update build for its Chromium-powered Edge browser. The latest update comes with build number 103.0.1264.37 and is now rolling out to all users under the stable release channel.

 

Being the first build of Microsoft Edge version 103, the latest update adds four new features to the browser that includes a certificate switcher, automatic profile switching, and improved security.

Almost four weeks after releasing Microsoft Edge version 101 to the stable channel, Microsoft has now released Edge version 102. The latest build version 102.0.1245.30 in the stable channel adds no new features. But the latest version is packed with four new policies and the latest security updates of the Chromium project. Last Month, Microsoft Edge build 102.0.1227.0 was released to the Dev Channel insiders promising that one more update will come from version 102 before the company shifts the development to 103. Later, Microsoft Edge Build 102.0.1235.1 was released and the company said that the insiders will see a few more updates before getting Microsoft Edge version 103 in the Dev Channel.

 

Now it's time to get Microsoft Edge version 103. Microsoft now releases Edge Dev build 103.0.1253.0. Being the first build from version 103, Microsoft Edge gets a few new features and improvements as listed here.

Microsoft is working on a new feature for its Edge browser that will allow you to protect your device and sensitive data while browsing the internet through a secure VPN (Virtual Private Network). The integrated VPN service will be called "Microsoft Edge Secure Network", and will be powered by Cloudflare.

 

According to the company, Microsoft Edge Secure Network is a preview feature and will be made available to a set of insiders first as an "early access" to get their constructive feedback.

Microsoft released a new Edge update (Build 102.0.1235.1) to the Dev Channel insiders. The company says that the Dev Channel insiders will receive a build higher than 1235 soon even though earlier it was mentioned that today's release will be the last dev build for Edge version 102.

Sleeping Tabs is a feature in Microsoft Edge, introduced in late 2020, which lets the inactive browser tabs sleep after a specified time to save system resources. This feature is based on Chrome's "freezing" technology, but way better than that. An initial report has shown a 26% reduction in memory usage of the browser.

 

Now, with Microsoft Edge 100, the company has updated sleeping tabs to enable pages that are sharing a browsing instance with another page.
