As it is the second Tuesday of the month, it's time for patching all supported versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Being the last patch of the year, Microsoft now started rolling out the December 2021 Patch Tuesday update (KB5008212) for Windows 10 versions 2004, 20H2, 21H1, and 21H2.

Just a few days ago Microsoft released a new cumulative update (KB5006670) for Windows 10 devices as part of the Patch Tuesday update service, which came with several improvements (fixes). But the latest patch actually started causing trouble to users.

Microsoft released a new cumulative update (KB5004296) for Windows 10 version 21H1, Windows 10 version 20H2, and Windows 10 version 2004. As this came as an optional update, it won't be downloaded automatically. You will have to manually click on the "Download and Install" link from the Windows Update settings page.

If you are using Windows 10 version 2004 or newer, Microsoft released another update (KB5004237) this month to address several issues affecting Windows 10 systems. The last update (KB5004945) was released on July 6th to address a Windows Zero-day vulnerability called "PrintNightmare".

 

All users running Windows 10 version 2004 (May 2020 Update), Windows 10 version 20H2, and Windows 10 version 21H1 must update their systems with this KB5004237 update by running Windows Update from the Settings app.

If you are using Windows 10 version 2004 or newer, Microsoft released an emergency update (KB5004945) to address a Windows Zero-day vulnerability. This vulnerability is called as "PrintNightmare" and is being exploited by attackers to achieve local privileges and remote code execution through the Windows Print Spooler service.

 

All users running Windows 10 version 2004 (May 2020 Update), Windows 10 version 20H2, and Windows 10 version 21H1 must update their systems with this KB5004945 update by running Windows Update from the Settings app.

Microsoft announced the release of the new Windows Feature Experience Pack. The latest build (version: 120.2212.2020.0) of Windows Feature Experience Pack is now being rolled out through Windows Update. Windows Insiders who are in the Beta Channel can now grab this build.

Windows Experience Feature Packs are used to deliver new feature improvements to Windows 10 customers without releasing the bi-annual major feature updates. Currently, only a limited set of features are being developed which are independent of the OS releases.

 

Microsoft now releases Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.1070.0 to the Windows Insiders in the Beta channel which adds two improvements to users running Windows 10 version 20H2 build 19042.662 or higher.

Microsoft releases a new Windows 10 preview build 19042.662 to the Windows Insiders in the Beta and Release Preview channels running Windows 10 October 2020 Update. This update includes several bug fixes along with the USB 3.0 bug and the bug that causes a black screen for Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) users.

 

This update comes as a KB4586853 article, and will soon be released to the non-insiders as an optional update. Later, it will be forced as a mandatory update as part of the patch Tuesday.

It's just a count of few days before the Windows 10 October 2020 Update (version 20H2) finally arrives at your PC. Windows 10 October 2020 Update (version 20H2) reached the next milestone. Windows 10 build 19042.508 (KB4571756) is now rolling out to the Windows Insiders who are in the Release Preview Channel to get it checked before the company promotes it to the general public.

Microsoft released Windows 10 insiders preview build 19546, where they have previewed new graphing capabilities in the Windows 10 calculator app. The Calculator app now includes a graphing mode, which may be generally available in the summer.

 

Apart from that, the build also includes a new Indexer Diagnostics app, which will help users to identify issues with the Windows Search indexer.
