Google kicked-off the Android 11 Developer Preview Program back in February 2020 and released few builds for the developers to test and prepare their apps and games. Just a few days back the company released Android 11 Developer Preview 3 (DP3) that brings a number of productivity improvements and fixes.

Now the company has released another Android 11 Developer Preview build (DP4) and updated the release schedule and delayed the release of the first beta.

Google delays Android 11 Beta, and releases Developer Preview 4

  • Android 11 developer preview 4 is now available.
  • Google modified its previous release plan of Android 11.
  • Now the first beta of Android 11 to release on June 3.

What's the Android 11 Beta release date?

As per the original roadmap of Android 11, DP3 would have been the last preview build of Android 11 and the first beta preview was supposed to release in the month of May 2020.

The company now delayed the release date of Android 11 Beta. Now, Google has confirmed that Android 11 Beta 1 will be revealed on June 3, 2020, by organizing an online event. So now the Beta 2 will come in July, and Beta 3 in August. During the online event, Google will open up submissions for apps designed or updated to be compatible with the new Android operating system.

What's new in Android 11 Developer Preview 4?

The Android 11 Developer Preview 4 doesn't bring any new features after Developer Preview 3, which was released just two weeks ago. Instead, it gives developers more time to get their apps ready for the first Beta release of Android 11.
