Microsoft starts rolling out a new preview build to the Windows Insiders in the Dev channel (formerly known as Fast Ring). The new Windows 10 build 20201 doesn't contain any new features but includes a set of fixes.

 

If you are an insider in the Dev channel, you would like to check for updates by navigating to the Windows Update Settings page. The build contains a list of known issues. Check before proceeding to the installation steps.

Microsoft two new features for Microsoft Word, powered by the Azure Cognitive Services AI (Artificial Intelligence). The features are now rolling out to all Microsoft 365 subscribers on the web, mobile and will be rolling out to Word for desktop users by the end of the year.

 

The first one is the transcribe feature in Word that converts your speech to text, and the second one is the dictation with voice commands in Word. Let's learn more about these features.

25 years ago, on 24th August 1995, Microsoft introduced Windows 95 Operating System to the retail users as the successor of the MSDOS based Windows 3.1 family. Over the years, Windows evolved continuously and increased the user experience of Start Menu, Themes, icons, and more.

 

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Windows 95 OS, Microsoft created a short video showing the evolution of Windows over the decades. Microsoft also published interviews with two engineers who worked on Windows 95.

Samsung has launched several M series smartphones in the last couple of months. Among them are Galaxy M31s, Galaxy M01 Core, and Galaxy M01s. The South Korean company is still continuing its development for the smartphone market, and a leak says that the company is now coming with Galaxy M51.

 

The new M series phone Samsung Galaxy M51 is coming to India very soon. While there is no official confirmation yet on the launch, but the phone has already been seen on many certification sites.

Microsoft announces the availability of the next feature update of Windows 10 version 20H2 for commercial pre-release validation. The device will be considered as commercial if it is not running the Home Edition of Windows 10, and managed by an IT administrator.

 

According to the company, this update will be rolled out via an enablement package; making the update process remarkably fast if you are upgrading from Windows 10 version 2004 to 20H2.

Microsoft announced that they are backporting the Windows Subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL2) distros to Windows 10 version 1903, and Windows 10 version 1909. Redmond based software giant said that it took over the last few months to bring it to Windows 10 version 1903 and 1909.

 

The backported WSL2 support comes to x64 systems only via a cumulative update (KB4571748) for those listed two Windows 10 versions and is currently being rollout out to the users.

Microsoft released a new build of its chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser to the Edge Insiders in the Dev channel. The new Microsoft Edge build 86.0.608.2 brings support for Dark Theme in default webpage form controls, reliability improvements, and a lot of fixes.

Microsoft is currently working on a new feature for Microsoft Edge that will allow you to stack your browser tabs vertically. When the feature is enabled, it will allow you to easily find and manage many open tabs at once. As the nature of the feature, they named it as "Vertical Tabs".
