Microsoft releases Visual Studio 2022 version 17.2 Preview 3. The latest preview build doesn't include any highlightable feature but adds quite a few improvements across installer, editor, C++, Git Tooling, and Test Tools. A new version of Microsoft Office is now available to the Office Insiders. The latest MS Office version 2205 comes with build number 15130.20000 and is currently rolling out under the Windows Beta Channel (formerly known as Fast Ring). Though this update doesn't bring any new features to the Office Suite, it contains several bug fixes as listed below.

As it is the second Tuesday of the month, it's time for patching all supported versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Being the fourth patch of the year, Microsoft now started rolling out the Windows 11 April 2022 Patch Tuesday (KB5012592) update for Windows 11 version 21H2, and Windows 10 April 2022 Patch Tuesday (KB5012599) update for versions 20H2, 21H1, 21H2.

Sleeping Tabs is a feature in Microsoft Edge, introduced in late 2020, which lets the inactive browser tabs sleep after a specified time to save system resources. This feature is based on Chrome's "freezing" technology, but way better than that. An initial report has shown a 26% reduction in memory usage of the browser.

 

Now, with Microsoft Edge 100, the company has updated sleeping tabs to enable pages that are sharing a browsing instance with another page.

Windows 11 - the latest version of Microsoft's operating system is being updated with a ton of new features and improvements. As announced on Tuesday at the "Hybrid Work" event, the company is set to add a tabbed design to File Explorer. If you are a Windows Insider, you might have already known about this feature coming next.

 

According to the announcement, the other features include Windows 365 based cloud PC enhancements, folders in Start, touch support for Snap Layout, better focus, captioning, and some other Microsoft Teams features for Windows 11.

Microsoft released a new servicing build to Windows 11 insiders. The latest Windows 11 Build 22581.200 comes as a KB5013296 Cumulative Update and is currently rolling out to the Windows Insiders in both the Dev Channel and Beta Channel.

 

As this cumulative update is designed to test the servicing pipeline for builds to the insiders' Dev and Beta channel, it doesn't include any feature changes and improvements.

A zero-day vulnerability (CVE-2022-1096) has been reported in Google Chrome, which could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the targeted system. If you are a Google Chrome user, you should pay attention to it and take immediate action as suggested by Google.

 

As the bug is within the Chromium engine, all browsers powered by Chromium (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox) will be affected due to this vulnerability.

Microsoft announces the release of Windows 11 Build 22581. The latest build is now rolling out to the Windows Insiders on the Dev Channel and Beta Channel. After the preview release to the insiders last week, Microsoft now started rolling out the Windows 10 KB5011543 update Build 19042.1620, 19043.1620, and 19044.1620 as an optional update to all the supported versions of Windows 10 devices. These builds are arriving as an optional "C" update.
