Microsoft Teams is getting another new feature in June 2021, which will be known as "Chat Bubbles". According to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap (Feature ID: 65948), chats sent during a Teams meeting will surface on the screens of all meeting participants, making the chat more central to the conversation.

 

Microsoft said that the feature will be on by default, but if you find it distracting, can turn it off from the meetings menu by following the simple mentioned steps as below.

Microsoft is now working on a new feature for Microsoft Teams, that will support an option to use end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for ad hoc 1:1 Teams VoIP calls. If you are using Teams voice call, this feature will add additional security for conducting sensitive online conversations.

 

Microsoft confirmed this feature in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, and the company is planning to release this feature next month with the July 2021 update.

A long-awaited feature named "Call Merge" is now available to Microsoft Teams on desktop and web apps. This feature will allow you to combine two Microsoft Teams calls into one group call and continue the conversation from there.

Since last year, Microsoft is testing native notifications support for Microsoft Teams on Windows 10. The feature was available only as part of the public preview program. Now the company has started rolling out this feature to all Microsoft Teams users on Windows 10.

 

When you enable Windows 10's native notifications, Microsoft Teams notifications will be delivered through the Windows notification center. This will adhere to your device's Do-Not-Disturb (DND) settings and move to the Action Center if you miss the notifications.

Microsoft is now testing a new feature for Teams that will allow you to schedule Out-of-Office hours. Once you set up a message in Teams to let others know that you are on vacation, the status message will also sync with your Outlook calendar, your presence, and contact card information.

In Microsoft Teams, a guest is a person who is not an employee of your organization. A guest doesn't have a school or work account with your organization. Your Microsoft Teams administrator should turn ON the Guest Access in order to allow you to communicate with people outside your organization.

 

As communicated in December 2020, Microsoft is now making some changes to the default setting for Guests in Microsoft Teams. If you have not already configured Guest access capability in Microsoft Teams, that capability will be enabled in your tenant by default.

Microsoft announced that the company is now rolling out an approval request app to Microsoft Teams. Once installed, you can quickly start an approval flow directly from the Microsoft Teams chat or a channel conversation. The other party will be notified for approval.

 

According to Microsoft, the "Approval Request" app will be automatically installed in Microsoft Teams, and by mid of this month it will be generally available to everyone.

Microsoft is working on a new feature for Microsoft Teams that will intelligently remove the unwanted background noise in real-time. The feature is said to be using the Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm to filter out all unwanted noises during the Microsoft Teams call.
