With a big surprise on 14th February 2019, Microsoft started rolling out the first insiders preview build of Windows 10 20H1. After a year of development and testing, it's now moving towards general availability which is scheduled to release next month.

 

Windows 10 May 2020 Update (20H1, version 2004 and build 19041.207) is now available to the Windows Insiders who are in Release Preview ring.

Microsoft-owned GitHub platform announced that they have now made private repositories with unlimited collaborators available to all GitHub users. This means all of it's core features are now free for all user accounts.

 

Until now, if an organization wanted to use the private repositories, it had to subscribe to a paid plan which was costing minimum $9 per user/month.

Microsoft took another step forward recommending Windows 7 users to migrate to the latest version of the Windows 10 operating system. Those who are still running their system on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, the software giant to end support for Microsoft Edge browser soon.

 

As both the operating systems are out of support, Microsoft Edge to continue support on those plateforms until July 15, 2021.

Microsoft released the official ISO image file of the Windows 10 20H1 preview build 19041. If you are a Windows Insider, you can now download the ISO file to perform clean installation of the build which was released to Fast Ring in December 2019.

 

Microsoft is expected to release the final build of Windows 10 20H1 in Spring 2020. But, before that if you want to grab this build, you need to register as Windows Insider.

Microsoft released Windows 10 insiders preview build 19546, where they have previewed new graphing capabilities in the Windows 10 calculator app. The Calculator app now includes a graphing mode, which may be generally available in the summer.

 

Apart from that, the build also includes a new Indexer Diagnostics app, which will help users to identify issues with the Windows Search indexer.

Microsoft officials said that the chromium based Microsoft Edge, which is going to be generally available from 15th January 2020, will not be bundled with Windows operating system updates. Rather, it will be available via Windows Updates for all PCs running Windows 10 1709 (RS4) and later.

 

The latest development comes over a month after the company announced the general availability of the Chromium-based Edge browser.
